The opening chapter of this book (the one that had me break down crying) was the perfect representation of that because if she could make me feel that much for new characters in just a matter of pages, just imagine what she can do with an entire book. and the thing that annoys me the most is that Tate's present pov and Miles' pov alternates so whenever we read Tate and Miles' romantic progression, the next chapter is Miles being so deeply in love with another woman, it's just. I’ll admit; the discussion around abuse in this book wasn’t AS bad as in ‘It Ends With Us’, but it still felt pretty one dimensional and pissed me off at times.

I suppose if a man lived through the ugliest side of love, he might never want to experience it again. Anonymous or not it is such a brave act to give a piece of yourself away, but more importantly to admit your feelings. Auburn was treated horribly by the same people she tried to appease,a tragedy was tattooed in her soul,yet she found the courage to love fiercely. Atlas has always been book boyfriend material but this book really cemented him as one of the good guys, and if not one of the top 10 book boyfriend’s in existence. I can't ( sadly) say much more about them, because I know once I got started talking about them I wouldn't be able to stop!As the story unfurls, the undercurrent of these unsaid words are felt, especially as Auburn’s heart-wrenching story comes to light, while Owen’s remains largely a mystery. The plot starts strong, stays steady, and just when you're winding up on the end of the book and you're thinking "ok that was great and all but what am I missing? But good lawd, I just got so frustrated by her lack of action to stand up for herself from time after time and right up to the point where she nearly got raped by Trey and how she just wanted to let it slide, that's when I nearly lost my shit with this read.

i might have overlooked every shitty thing back then but now that i'm more petty, have the penchant for holding a grudge, and have high standards for books ooohh boy.

He tells Fallon’s father that there are plenty of actors with physical injuries who have found success in Hollywood and that there is no reason to discourage Fallon. Auburn had some priorities,and a relationship with Owen could jeopardize everything she fought for all these years. The difference between the ugly side of love and the beautiful side of it is that the beautiful side is much lighter. I've loved everything she's ever written most especially because of the uniqueness of her stories and her ability to make me care so much for the characters.
