About this deal

In these moments I was made aware of the interconnectedness of all of creation, and how everything is a living expression of divine oneness. Once this was done, the messenger would deliver the message stick and be allowed to use the tribe’s resources for the duration of his stay. I do qualify it though with “seemingly” simple because as a contemplative lens and an analytical tool it is almost certainly simpler in theory than application. For instance, in Egypt that part of man which survives after death is the Ba soul and is drawn as a star.

Let us look at the passage in question where Jung deals with the contrast between a symptom and a symbol. We can see in this need for constant productivity a form of escapism from the reality and experience of simply being.

We are in times of great transition, and many of us are being challenged to the core of our beings, even moreso if we are also trying to help those around us to hang on and push through. When Gary was pastor here and we would join hands at the end of the service, he would say, “hold on tight. Therefore, in many parts of the world there is the folklore tradition that, when you see a star shoot down, that is the moment the soul comes to earth and the child is born. It is precisely here where one is often obliged to “give up what thou hast, then thou shalt receive”. The phenomenon of transference being the recapitulation with the analyst of developmental/childhood relational dynamics.

The Internet is a powerful image of life's interconnected oneness, and how the individual can interact with the whole. So if one dreams of being killed, executed, or shot or hanged or whatever the form of death, it always points to the coming of a radical change. At UWC ISAK Japan, we value students who possess the same spirit of determination and courage as the musasabi. And we can midwife this new awareness and its possibilities: the dynamic oneness that belongs to life.

In thinking about this I am reminded of the idea of Jung’s that unconscious one-sidedness is the hight of barbarism, and conscious one-sidedness is the hight of culture. We now know that we are the Beloved of God that we may tell all people that they too are the Beloved. Now the question we can ask is, is this daily ‘busyness/productivity’, always or necessarily a form of repetition compulsion or symptomatic? There have always been minority movements within Christianity, often at the edges, who have taken the way of Jesus and the vision of Paul seriously. Repetitions that fail to instil in the subject a sense of purpose, life, animation, meaning or joie de vivre.
